MY STORY

Fred Bender Sr., an alumnus of Alcorn State University, Lorman, Mississippi, and his wife Irasema, reside near the thriving city of Atlanta, Ga. He is the father of eight children and eight grandchildren. He is a member of Annistown Road Church and served as an ordained Deacon there. One of his greatest joys is and has always been to help others. He would be the first to say, “Man’s purpose, on this earth, is to lift and do what we can to enrich and make easy, the road for others!” As a result of this philosophy, he is a retired Educator, Sunday School teacher and US Army Veteran. In 2021, Fred experienced the loss of his son-in-law. As tragic as that was psychologically, his daughter and her four children were left without the financial benefit of insurance. He witnessed firsthand how devastating that can be. Imagine a single mom with five children trying to navigate the family’s finances while morning her loss and worrying because the family’s chief bread winner had just transitioned. The children still needed shelter, clothing, and food. Without the advantage of a financial infusion offered by insurance this kind of loss could destroy a family. Fortunately, his daughter had a family that came to her assistance, but many other families don’t have that kind of support. That experience along with a series of other occurrences weighed heavily on him and caused him to apply for and receive his license to market insurance in the states of Georgia, Florida and soon others. In addition, he also learned that Insurance also has “living benefits”. People always seem to associate insurance with transition but fail to understand that this product also can help you live very well financially. The decision to become part of the financial services industry is his way of continuing to “lift and do what he can to enrich and make easy, the road for others”.
